Variety description

The plant forms a neat bush 40–80 cm in height and 40–50 cm in width. The leaves are dark green, basal, palmately divided and serrated. The inflorescences are umbels with small flowers surrounded by long lanceolate bracts of a deep burgundy hue, which lighten as they develop.

The variety is winter hardy (zone 4, down to -29 °C), resistant to diseases and undemanding in care. Flowering continues from June to August; with the removal of spent shoots, repeated budding is possible. The flowers are suitable for cutting and dry bouquets, and the plant also attracts pollinating insects.
