The leaves of the variety have a rich violet-purple color, they are fleshy and velvety. Upon stem formation, the plant is capable of reaching a height of up to 1.70 m. Harvesting of young leaves begins 60 days after emergence, and subsequently, staggered harvesting every 2–4 days is possible.
The plant is cold-resistant and capable of germinating at low temperatures. The variety can be grown in sun and shaded areas. With adherence to agricultural practices, leaf yield reaches 40 tonnes per hectare with a seeding rate of 8–10 kg/ha.
Greens of the Zorina variety are consumed fresh, as well as after heat treatment in soups and purees or via canning.
