The variety belongs to the naked (non-husked) oat type. Due to the absence of tough hulls, the grain has a high feed value, distinguished by an increased protein and fat content with a low fiber level.

By morphological traits, the variety is tall. The grain has a high thousand kernel weight, although it is inferior to more modern forms in terms of grain uniformity. A lower carbohydrate content compared to a number of other varieties is also noted.
