The Freja variety is used in breeding and research work to study the biochemical composition of the grain, including the levels of lipids (about 6%), beta-glucan, and avenanthramides. In terms of its technological parameters, the grain meets standard requirements for the food industry.

In phytopathological studies, the variety is classified as susceptible to certain types of rust, in particular when studying Pg resistance genes. Morphological indicators, such as yield and thousand kernel weight, vary depending on the conditions of specific field trials.
