The variety belongs to the yellow oat group. In the academic community, it is known as a model object used in biotechnological research for developing androgenesis techniques, including in vitro anther and microspore culture.

In scientific experiments, the variety was used to study susceptibility to fungal diseases, such as Fusarium, and resistance to crown rust. Research showed a dependence of beta-glucan content on the weather conditions of the growing season, as well as a tendency for cadmium accumulation in the grain.
