The variety is specialized for agrotechnical purposes and is used as a green manure to suppress weeds and improve soil structure. The plant is characterized by a large number of leafy shoots, while being sensitive to frost, which facilitates subsequent crop destruction.

In laboratory studies, it was noted that compared to some other Avena strigosa varieties, Altesse may demonstrate slower growth of the above-ground part during early stages of development with stable root mass indicators. The variety is not intended for commercial grain production.
