The plant forms a dense, upright bush 75–90 cm in height and width. The foliage is compound, trifoliate, with a blue-green hue. Intense violet-blue flowers are gathered in upright inflorescences; the flowering period occurs in late spring and early summer.
The variety possesses high drought tolerance after establishment and winter hardiness in zones 4–9. Shoots are resistant to lodging and do not require support. After flowering, decorative coal-black seed pods form on the bushes, which persist until the winter period.
The plant is resistant to browsing by deer and rabbits. Due to the presence of a deep taproot, it tolerates transplanting and division poorly, therefore it requires the selection of a permanent location at planting.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
