The variety belongs to the Begonia rex-hybridae group. The plant forms a compact bush 15 to 25 cm in height. The leaves are velvety, dark burgundy, almost black in color with a metallic purple sheen and silvery-green accents; the underside of the leaf is reddish-brown.

The plant is intended for indoor cultivation. It prefers partial shade and bright diffused light; it is sensitive to water stagnation and air humidity levels. The variety is part of a selection series of hybrids focused on ornamental use in interiors.
