The plant has a compact, spreading habit with semi-pendulous shoots. The leaves have a characteristic coloration: the upper side of the leaf blade is dark green, the lower side is red.

The variety is characterized by profuse flowering. The flowers have a red-orange hue; the perianth segments (tepals) are wide and short.
