The variety is used as a fodder crop for livestock grazing or for harvesting for subsequent use as winter feed for dairy cattle, beef steers, sheep, and deer. Compared to some other varieties, for example, «Brigadier», it possesses a higher dry matter content in the root crop and a pronounced ability for its accumulation.
Root crop growth is described as sigmoidal, with a dominance of biomass accumulation in the exponential growth phase. Under New Zealand conditions, dry matter yield reached 19–35 t/ha.
