The roots have a cylindrical shape, their length is 25–27 cm, and the mass varies from 0.25 to 5 kg. The root color is red, the flesh is pinkish-white and succulent. The variety is characterized by the fact that the majority of the root (about 2/3) protrudes above the soil surface.
The growing season is 108 to 155 days depending on growing conditions. The plant possesses cold hardiness, resistance to bolting, and is capable of adapting to different soil types, with the exception of highly acidic ones. The yield retains marketability during storage for 4–5 months.
