The root crops have a red skin color and white or pale yellow flesh, sometimes with red veins. The shape of the root crops is long, their size can reach 60 cm in length, and the weight can vary from several kilograms to 15–20 pounds. The leaf apparatus is distinguished by the presence of reddish veins and a height of about 30 cm.
The vegetation period is from 100 to 150 days. The variety has resistance to Cercosporaleaf spot and good keeping quality during winter storage. Historically, the name could be used to designate a group of long red fodder beets offered by different breeders.
