The sugar beet hybrid Angelina (also referred to as KWS Angelina) is characterized by the presence of specific Rz1 and Rz2 resistance genes, which provide protection against the Beet necrotic yellow vein virus that causes rhizomania. This genetic complex allows the hybrid to maintain effectiveness against a number of virus isolates.
Agronomic studies note that under certain conditions, plants of this hybrid may exhibit susceptibility to Cercospora leaf spot. Detailed data regarding maturity parameters or yield in open publications are limited, as the variety is more often considered an object of genetic research.
