The Belladonna KWS variety is a sugar beet hybrid bred for industrial cultivation for the purpose of sugar production. In scientific literature, it has repeatedly served as a subject for physiological studies on sugar accumulation in root crops.
During the studies, the variety was classified as susceptible to Rhizoctonia. It was also used in breeding and laboratory work to study the interaction of the crop with the stem nematode, while specific parental lines, such as DIT_005, were used in the breeding process.
