The variety is intended for industrial sugar production. In agronomic studies, it often serves as an object for assessing yield and sugar content, and is also used as a control sample when studying the efficacy of fungicides against leaf diseases.

The plant possesses resistance to bolting. At the same time, the variety is characterized as extremely susceptible to cercospora leaf spot infection. In a number of countries, the variety may be excluded from official registers or have a restricted status of use.
