The NS-1223 MS line is not a variety or hybrid for commercial cultivation. It is developed for breeding work and producing hybrids by crossing with other components.

The plant possesses genetic resistance to rhizomania due to the presence of the Holly gene and exhibits tolerance to Cercospora leaf spot.
