Variety description

The plant forms dense clumps 35–40 cm in height; peduncles reach 50–60 cm. The leaves are dark green, wrinkled, and aromatic. Upright leafless peduncles bear spicate inflorescences with bright purple flowers.
Flowering occurs from June to August and lasts about 10 weeks. The variety is suitable for cultivation in borders, rock gardens, and containers; it attracts bees and bumblebees and is suitable for cutting.
The plant is winter hardy in USDA zones 4–9, withstands frosts down to –10...–15°C, and is resistant to heat, drought, and humidity. The foliage has resistance to deer damage.
