Interspecific hybrid (Betula nana x Betula pendula), which is a multi-stemmed shrub with a compact, flat or spherical crown. At maturity, it reaches a height of 60–120 cm with a comparable width. The growth rate is about 10 cm per year.
Young leaves in spring have bright yellow, orange, and red shades, turning light green (chartreuse-yellow) in summer. The leaves are small, rounded, with serrated edges. The plant produces brown catkin inflorescences in early spring.
The variety possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zones 2–7) and is resistant to diseases, air pollution, and deer damage. It tolerates pruning well and is used in landscape design for group plantings, low hedges, container cultivation, and rock gardens.
