The rapeseed variety Blako is known as an entity cultivated in the Netherlands in the mid-1950s. Later, the variety appeared in scientific publications of the 1980s as material for studying erucic acid content in comparison with other varieties of that period.
Detailed morphological or agronomic traits of the variety, such as maturity group or disease resistance, are absent from available scientific materials. The variety is mentioned in lists of European genetic resources and is not used in modern agricultural practice.
