The winter rapeseed variety Sinus was bred in Sweden and became widely known in the 1970s as a variety with improved oil quality, which ensured the industry's transition to the production of a product with a low erucic acid content.
In scientific studies of that period, the variety was used as a reference sample when studying the chemical composition of oil, phospholipids, and phytic acid content. The variety was also used in breeding programs to develop resistance to fungal diseases, in particular to Verticillium dahliae.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
