The ES Barocco hybrid is developed using the OGURA system and is characterized by very high winter hardiness. Plants exhibit intensive autumn rosette development with a low tendency for stem elongation, which ensures good overwintering. Plant height varies from medium-high to very high.
Spring development is characterized by late resumption of vegetation and slow growth of the main stem against a background of active formation of lateral branches. The variety possesses high lodging resistance and specific genetic resistance to phoma stem canker due to the presence of the RLM7 gene.
The hybrid is suitable for cultivation on less fertile soils. The oil content in the seeds is about 43.8%.
