The variety belongs to the traditional type of rapeseed, in the oil of which the erucic acid content exceeds 50%, and mustard compounds are also present. During the period of its widespread distribution, it was considered high-yielding, surpassing the Skrzeszowicki variety in seed and oil yield.
The plant is of the winter type, characterized by good winter hardiness and the ability to harden at low temperatures. The variety showed moderate lodging resistance, surpassing a number of other varieties of its time in this indicator. In modern scientific literature, it is used as a model object for physiological studies.
