The NEX715 line is known in the context of breeding programs as a genetic source for improving other rapeseed lines. The plant possesses a resistance gene to blackleg, the pathogen of which is Leptosphaeria maculans.
In scientific comparisons with other experimental lines, such as NEX710 and NEX705, it was noted that NEX715 has a lower oil content, however its primary value for breeding lies in the presence of a specific disease resistance trait.
