The variety represents a transitional link in the breeding of rapeseed with low erucic acid content. It was used as an agricultural crop for vegetable oil production and was actively used in commercial plantings in the 1970s and 1980s.
In the scientific community, the variety was used as a model specimen for biochemical laboratory studies of seed protein composition, such as napin and cruciferin. Currently, it is considered part of the collection gene pool of spring rapeseed studied in dissertation research.
