The winter rapeseed variety Silvia belongs to the relatively early-maturing group. The plants are of medium height and are characterized by good winter hardiness and lodging resistance. Regarding phytosanitary characteristics, low to medium susceptibility to Phoma is noted.

The seeds of the variety are of medium size and belong to the "00" category, which means no erucic acid and a low glucosinolate content. The produce is distinguished by an increased content of crude fat and protein. Initially, the variety was intended for the production of oil and fodder meal.
