Variety description

10 August 2026

Spitfire is a hybrid of rape and forage kale. The maturity period is 90–100 days. The plant is of medium height with soft stems that break easily, and pale yellow flowers. The variety is intended for sheep and cattle grazing and can also be used as a cover crop.

The variety possesses high nutritional value and good palatability. It demonstrates excellent resistance to aphids, as well as good resistance to powdery mildew and Alternaria. A unique feature is its tolerance to chlorsulfuron-group herbicides, to which other rape varieties are sensitive.
