The plant stem is long. The leaf blade is characterized by the absence or very weak expression of blistering; when present, blistering appears only at the tip of the leaf. The variety is mentioned in testing guidelines as a reference for leaf position and stem length traits.

In phytopathological studies, the variety Fanch is classified as susceptible to downy mildew (Peronospora parasitica). As part of this work, an analysis of the biochemical composition was also conducted, including the content of glucosinolates in response to infection.
