The Napoletano febbrarese variety is a landrace adapted to the climate of Southern Italy. In the agronomic tradition, the variety name indicates its seasonality and belonging to a group of varieties intended for winter cultivation.

This variety is not a modern breeding hybrid, therefore standardized descriptions of its morphological traits or resistance indices to pathogens are absent from open registers. Various local ecotypes of the Neapolitan group may be concealed under the variety name.
