The De Santa Teresa variety is a traditional local plant from Catalonia, Spain. The shape of the inflorescence resembles cauliflower, but differs in its lower density and looser structure. Characteristic external features are the purple color of the head and the presence of pink veins on the leaves.
The plant is an early-maturing variety. The productivity of the variety is lower than that of modern commercial broccoli types. The crop is valued primarily as part of cultural heritage and for its specific gastronomic qualities.
