The Bonner Advent variety is an old regional variety. It is a very late "winter" cabbage: sowing is carried out in June or August, planting in open ground by the end of November, and harvesting in the following spring in May. The plant reaches a height of about 40 cm and requires a planting distance of 40–50 cm. The heads are large, with dark green curly leaves.

The commercial variety Advent is characterized by a growing season of about 100 days. The plant forms rounded or oval-shaped heads weighing 1.4–1.6 kg.
