The variety historically originates from the Lorient region in Brittany and appeared around 1890. The plant belongs to the late-maturing group with a vegetation period of approximately 180 days. The traditional form of the variety could reach a weight of up to 15 kg; however, more compact versions for home use were developed through breeding.
The head has a voluminous, wide, and flattened shape. The foliage is strongly crinkled, characteristic of savoy cabbage, often showing an anthocyanin tint. The variety possesses good cold tolerance and universal use, including culinary processing and fresh consumption.
