Ottoline is a first-generation hybrid (F1). During comparative trials, the sprouts of the variety were characterized by a less smooth surface compared to the Prelent variety.
The variety is mentioned in a number of European vegetable variety catalogs, where the company Sperli is listed as the supplier. In later versions of European Union registers (2017), the variety is listed as delisted.
