ActiveCamelina sativa (L.) Crantz · Camelina
Sustainable Oils Inc.
10 August 2026
The variety was obtained through individual selection and crossing of wild genotypes. Plants reach a height of 50–100 cm, with flowering occurring in the first ten days of June. The variety possesses moderate resistance to white mold and a relatively low level of susceptibility to pathogens common to brassica crops.
The yellow-orange seeds have a thousand kernel weight of about 1.2 g. The average seed yield is 1.5 t/ha. The resulting oil is characterized by a high content of vitamin E and linoleic acid.
The crop is used as an oilseed plant and a green manure. The variety is adapted to dry conditions, but it is not recommended for acidic or waterlogged soils, nor for crop rotations involving rapeseed or sunflowers.
