In spring, the leaves have a bright golden color, which lightens to a lime-green shade by summer. The leaves are narrow, lanceolate, forming a basal rosette. The flowers are violet-blue, bell-shaped, directed sideways, and measure about 3.8–4 cm.
The plant forms compact clumps. The height of the flower stalks is 40–60 cm, and the height of the foliage is up to 40 cm. Flowering occurs in June–July, sometimes continuing until August.
The variety is vigorous. Resistance to grazing by deer and rabbits has been noted. The plant is suitable for cutting, container gardening, and border plantings.
