The plant is a compact cushion-forming perennial, reaching 10–15 cm in height and spreading up to 20–30 cm in width. The medium-green leaves are kidney-shaped or heart-shaped and are evergreen depending on the climatic conditions of the region.

The funnel-shaped flowers, of a deep violet-blue shade, are gathered in loose panicle inflorescences. Flowering occurs during the summer period.

The variety is hardy, preferring sunny or semi-shaded areas with loose, well-drained, nutritious soil. The plant does not tolerate waterlogging. It is used for decorating retaining walls and for planting in borders, containers, and hanging baskets.
