Bastidon is a non-hybrid variety of sweet pepper with thick fruit walls, which turn bright red upon reaching biological maturity.
In scientific literature, the variety is widely used as a tool for studying the virulence of Potato virus Y (PVY) isolates due to its specific reaction to various strains of this pathogen.
