The Dolcetto hybrid belongs to the Italian Friariello pepper type. The fruits are 2- and 3-lobed, have a bright green color at technical maturity, their width is 1.5–2 cm, and the length is 8–10 cm. The fruits are characterized by a uniform shape and sweet taste.
The plant is intended for cultivation in protected and open ground. High and medium levels of resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, bacterial spot, and tomato spotted wilt virus are claimed.
In a number of sources, the name Dolcetto F1 mentions a different type of pepper, a so-called cherry pepper with round fruits weighing 18–20 g, which may indicate the existence of different hybrids under the same trade name.
