The variety was created within the framework of breeding programs aimed at increasing the crop's resistance to bacterial diseases. Breeders Ferenc Márkus, József Kapitány, Gábor Csilléry, and János Szarka participated in the work.
The name Glóbusz is an intermediate designation in the process of developing the Globál variety. In this regard, detailed morphological or agronomic characteristics specific to an independent market variety are not provided under this number.
