The variety Mela is the first Polish pepper variety bred using the doubled haploid method, which allowed for the acquisition of genetically stable homozygous plants in a short period. The plant is distinguished by vigorous growth and the formation of a large number of lateral shoots.
The fruits of this variety reach an average weight of about 150 grams and acquire an intense color upon reaching biological maturity. The variety is characterized by good fruit set and was developed for adaptation to the climatic conditions of Poland, as well as for the needs of the processing industry.
