Hybrid Rioja belongs to the Lamuyo type; fruits have an elongated shape, reaching 14–16 cm in length and 7.5–8 cm in width. The weight of one fruit is 210–230 g, fruit walls are thick. During the ripening process, the color changes from green to intense dark red.
The plant is compact, medium-sized. The variety possesses resistance to Tobacco mosaic virus, Potato virus Y, bacterial spot, and Tomato spotted wilt virus. The crop can be grown in open field, plastic greenhouses, or under net.
