The Safi variety is an open-pollinated Scotch Bonnet type pepper (Capsicum chinense). The plant reaches a height of 300–400 mm. The fruits are small, wrinkled, and change color from light green to bright red. The variety is characterized by a ripening period of 90–100 days and resistance to powdery mildew.
The Safyan F1 hybrid is early-ripening (60–65 days from transplanting). The plant is semi-spreading, of medium height. The fruits are pendant, trunk-shaped, long, slightly wrinkled, with a strong gloss. At technical maturity, the fruits are light green, and at biological maturity, they range from red to dark red. It is intended for open field and film shelters.
