The Polka F1 hybrid from Rijk Zwaan consists of compact and vigorous plants suitable for harvesting at technical maturity when the fruits are green. The plants possess resistance to Tobacco mosaic virus (Tm:0).
The Marta Polka variety is mid-early, intended for open field and film tunnels. The plants reach a height of 40 cm, do not require staking, have stiff shoots and blocky or flat-blocky fruits with thick walls, which turn yellow upon ripening.
In some sources, an early-maturing sweet pepper with blocky fruits is offered under the name Polka F1; however, the lack of a standardized description requires verifying characteristics with the specific producer to avoid confusion with varieties of other crops, such as the Atena Polka F1 zucchini.
