The pepper variety «Светлячок» is officially registered as a sweet pepper variety. In scientific publications dedicated to phytopathology, the variety was examined in experiments studying resistance to bacterial spot Xanthomonas vesicatoria, where it showed a medium degree of damage under artificial inoculation.

Various sources attribute to the variety a medium-early maturity group, a determinate bush type 40–60 cm in height, and truncated-pyramidal fruits weighing 120–150 g. However, due to the use of the name «Светлячок» for different breeding lines, the reliability of these characteristics for a specific variety remains uncertain.
