ActiveCelosia argentea L. var. cristata (L.) Kuntze · Cockscomb
L.J. Noordam
10 August 2026
The variety forms large crested, so-called cockscomb, inflorescences of a saturated dark red color with a pronounced corrugated structure. The plant belongs to the Bombay series, a feature of which is upright stems without the formation of side shoots.
The main purpose of the variety is industrial cultivation for cut flowers in both protected and open ground. Due to its morphology and the quality of the inflorescences, the variety is suitable for intensive floriculture technologies that allow for obtaining standard commercial products.
