Plants of the species Centaurea imperialis reach a height of 50–90 cm, sometimes up to 120 cm. A characteristic feature of the flowers is the presence of a pleasant sweet aroma, which distinguishes this species from other representatives of the genus.

The variety is intended for cultivation as an ornamental plant in sunny areas with nutritious soil. Due to sturdy peduncles, the crop is suitable for cutting and is also used in mixtures for attracting pollinating insects.
