The plant reaches a height of 30 to 90 cm. The main decorative feature is the leaf coloration: it is pale yellow in spring, and acquires a golden hue in summer, which persists until autumn. The flowers are cobalt blue.

The variety prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations with good drainage and possesses drought tolerance. It is used in border plantings, rock gardens, and containers. The species is characterized by high disease resistance, but may require protection in regions with severe winters.
