The "Yellow Cap" variety is characterized as versatile and can be grown in two forms: as a spray chrysanthemum or as a disbudded, large-flowered type after removal of lateral buds. Visually, with specific cultivation techniques, the inflorescence may resemble a plant of the genus Craspedia.

No data confirming a link between the commercial name "CAP" and the work of breeders William Duffett or Jessel Walter has been found. These specialists were involved in the registration of other chrysanthemum varieties in the 1970s–1980s.
