Varieties of the Delano group are low- or medium-growing plants with a height of 35 to 70 cm. The flowers are double, lush, with a petal shape resembling a starfish. The plants form compact, often spherical bushes.

Flowering occurs in the autumn period from September to November. The varieties are suitable for decorative interior design, patios, container gardening, and landscape design. The hardiness zone is estimated as USDA 5a, however, they are often cultivated as pot or annual plants.
