Varieties of the Reagan group, including Dark Reagan, were obtained by the method of induced mutagenesis using gamma radiation. The plants are classified as spray chrysanthemums intended for protected cultivation.
The plants are characterized by vigorous growth and reach a height of 100–125 cm. The variety has a response period of 7.5 to 8 weeks. In international practice, Dark Reagan is often used as a reference variety in the breeding of new chrysanthemum varieties.
