The name Sapiro appears in documents of European plant variety protection offices, which confirms its classification as Chrysanthemum × morifolium. There are mentions of the Sapiro Yellow variation, which is characterized by dark green foliage and inflorescences 3.5–4 cm in diameter.

In Russian-language sources, a variety called Spiro is often encountered, which has different characteristics, such as a height of up to 80 cm and pinkish-lilac flowers. It is likely that these names refer to different plants, and Sapiro and Spiro may be the result of erroneous transliteration or confusion in trade catalogs.
